Myself and OH are upgrading our tent from a small 2 man tent to something bigger we can spend a week comfortably in.

We have two on our short list (we're looking for something round the £100 mark and with lots of living space)

The two we quite like are the Coleman Bi-space 500 (http://www.norwich-camping.co.uk/product_details/3626.html) and the Gelert Vesuvius 5 (http://www.buckscamping.co.uk/view_details.php?productID=298). However we've not seen either up. Does anyone have any words of wisdom on the matter?

I'm attracted to the coleman as the small 2 man tent we have is coleman and has withstood all weather we've put in through, not sure I trust the Gelert as much. But the coleman use of space isn't as good as the gelert. Eeek! Decisions!

Thanks for any help :)

Strangely enough I stayed in my mates Bi-Space over the weekend, nice tent BUT the lack of windows was a problem for me, I like a tent with windows so as I don't feel too closed in so personally I'd probably go for the Gelert.

I personally would go for the Coleman bispace as I think the quality would be better. We have a Gelert Cadiz 5 and although it is fine, I did consider the coleman bispace 500 and regret not going for that one.

I thought the Bi-Spaces had windows either side of both doors, and a sky-light vent-cap thing?

I think the BiSpaces always look excellent quality and seem to  have good finishing touches eg gussets!

Haven't seen one of those Gelerts up, so can't comment. MT

That Bi-space is a great price and, with free delivery has to be a bargain. Norwich Camping are good to deal with, as well.

They look quality tents. I also like the look of the poly/cotton version tri-space, which is also available at a really good price since being discontinued.

Best of luck, whatever you decide.

Ah, yes, well, erm.....sorry

You're correct MT, the one I stayed in is a few years old (before they invented windows!!!! ).........should have done my homework before engaging my mouth as usual

Have to say from the pictures I've seen the windows in the Bi-Space look a bit like frosted glass to me! Which may or may not be a good enough window!

Thanks for all the replies so far...still feeling rather confused - i blame the heat! keep the opinions coming!!!!

The BiSpace windows are the standard plastic type you get on all tents! MT

Just as an update. I have ordered the Bi-space 500, after much chewing over, and deciding a trusted coleman enough to go with one i hadn't seen. Looking forward to it arriving although our garden isn't big enough to put in up in

Hopefully many happy holidays in our new tent!

Thanks for all your help!
