Hi! My trouble is that once I have erected the tent in the garden, I want to sleep in straight away . And we leave new tents up in the garden for a few days to see how they cope with the weather, so I have real trouble resisting temptation. It is just a good job that Andy doesn't feel the same way or we might end up living in the tent permanently

Needed to know, cos probably an old fish tale that i have heard says it needs to be erected before proper use,or it will leak in if it rains. So just formy own peace of mind i thought i would ask. My family and i are off to the Vendee for four weeks so i would like to be safe than sorry.
What you have probably heard is that canvas tents have to be "proofed" before they are used - that is, totally soaked and then dried. So not an old fish tale at all, just a misunderstanding
