Scarrfell,

We bought a Bear Lake 4 a month ago but have'nt had the chance to pitch yet. Did you find any of the problems with being unable to zip up the front door that some people have had with the 6 berth that has been reported on here?

Hi,
No ..not really, we zipped the door before putting it up, but lets say its a snug fit
.. we noticed on the bear lake 6 display model that the door wouldn't zip up, however, the guy said it it had been put up with the door open?

Just received our Bear Lake today and I've just finished putting it up.  The groundsheet zip is spot on and so to is the front door zip.  Spot on I would say.

I made sure the doors were zipped shut first.

Surely if the front door won't shut at all on some tents then they must have been pitched with the door open?  If it starts off shut it must be possible to open and shut it afterwards.

Just bought a BearLake 6.

Really please with the tent appart from the front door being really tight to zip up. I think that there is a design fault with them or some of them. You really struggle to get the zip around, and you feel sure you will bust the zip.

Bought it from GoOutdoors in Middlestown Yorkshire, and they are saying that that is how the tent is, and that there is no fault.???

Not happy, great tent appart from this. I have told them to contact Outwell and get an answer. I will post the result,

How long would one of these tents last? Is the waterproofing better than on the standard polyester tents?

And can they be re-proofed like old fashioned canvas?

ta!

We've covered the zip issue on the BL6 a few times now. Even when the tent is erected with door shut i alway's have to adjust front poles to allow some slack for door. In summary i think the door is alway's a little tight, but this is due to the design, as with the WL's.I
