My friend who is looking for a tent is considering both of these, his main question is what are they like in windy conditions, and which is easier to out up

Chris

I've owned a Diablo 600 and just about to get a 900. It used to take me and hubby about 40 mins to put up 600. We had very windy conditions with it and although poles snapped it remained standing.
Whilst on the same trip another couple had a Aspen, it took the two of them about 1 1/2 hours to put up. Could have been first time I don't know. The Aspen looked very nice up and remained standing whilst others around them fell.

Don't know if this helps but at least your blue face has gone.

Cath.

Hi, I have a Aspen 700 and it takes my wife and I about 40 mins, to put up.I have also used it in very windy conditions in Tenby and while other tents were damaged the Aspen took it all with no damage at all.    Hope this helps...Dave....

the aspen will not move in stormy weather and i believe thaat the diablo is one of the most stable tents on the market .......however if you are considering bad weather performance then you must also consider usability and best use of interior space and quite frankly in this dept then the aspen is simply streets ahead of the diabolicalwith near vertical sides and acres of space in the main living area(the great hall)compared to the angular dome of the diablo

i know i am very biased but  read the bottom of my sig when we were in the peaks during a very stomy whit the aspen was peerless on the site (ours and daveashys)only a 70's frame tent looked as stable  there you then thats my  twopenth

we looked at both of these last year and went for the diablo, mainly for the bedrooms. in the diablo your bedrooms are separeted unlike the aspen, so if you want a bit of space away from the kids at night then its the diablo.

Hi, weve got the diablo 600, takes about 40mins to put up, and its dead easy, as for windy conditions it is brilliant.
