hello Thanielle
I think i may miss caravan at first but because we always go with friends who have an outwell tent, and i've seen there layout and how cosy it is i'm not too worried.
However, we are looking into taking a small fridge, portaloo, kettle and toaster not to mention small tv. We are planning to be away for 3 weeks next august at trevornick holywell bay, so i will need to be slightly prepared.
The children are so excited about "camping" so i'm sure it will be fun.
The only tents i really like are the outwell nebraska xxl or sunncamp family vario 900 our friends have a bear lake in polycotton fabric with sewn in groundsheet and it was so warm they said they could never go back to any other tent now but its just not quite big enough for us. Not really worried about damp as we always have good weather in cornwall (fingers crossed, touch wood etc) and there is always a bar nearby!

Hi Thanielle
No I haven't heard about reception in a tent, but whilst in Newquay in the caravan begininng of August this year we had a dreadful picture and could only watch one main chanel same for my mobile too as we are selling our house I needed to be able to recieve calls but aroung that area couldn't. We had to wait to get to the main A30 road, normally wouldn't have bothered me.
So if we can't get a picture, nevermind, the children can always plug in portable dvd player and watch a film.
Portable dvd's are a necessity if you have to travel about 9 hours in a car and don't take up too much room.
Let me know what your friends do about tv in their tent.
Thanks, Paula

hi Thanielle
We arrived in Newquay on the 28th of July and stayed for 2 weeks. The weather was actually quite good. Not as good as last year, but we were on the beach most of the time including Peranporth beach. The first day on the beach it rained briefly and 4 of us shot into our little tiny beach shelter which was a little bit leaky but did the job not bad for a fiver!
See you
Paula
