We've just returned from a 6 night stay in our Vango Diablo 600. 3 out of these 6 nights it rained. I had real problems opening the front of our tent when it was wet as the rain just poured in from the roof and also the doorway. One of the neighbouring tents was a Hartford XXL and they had the Outwell canopy at the end of their kitchen area. They didn't get wet when they unzipped in the morning as it was under the canopy.
Are there are special tips on getting out dry?!
Thanks, Sian

can you tell me if your tent leaked through the groundsheet centre seam in the living area - ours seaped in water and mud - told by vango it was normal in wet weather - would just like to find someone with the same problem ...because i don't believe anyone would put up with it.
many thanks

You could invest in one of the front canopies for the bigger Vangos? They`re on discount all over the place and they would certainly solve the wet door problem.

What about using the side door in wet weather?
Was going to be my suggestion as well. We have a V V 500 and use the front when weather good as it allows us to store stuff along sides of tent, but if raining we'll use the side. Also, aren't the front porch doors on the 600 nearly vertical. Interesting to see your problems as we were thinking of getting one of these

Got the 900xp and when raining we use the side doors as stated and yes you still get a little water coming in but not a problem for us, to be honest i think all tents to a point will have water around the door if not opened for a while. MikeJ no problem at all with ours, no leakage anywhere and it stood on some pretty wet ground the other week. Excellent tent.
We were in Cornwall first week in July and had some fairly terrible weather, both wind and rain, gusting gale force. We had no tent leaks (although reminder to self :- if in tent when rain starts even with a 40C temp and a throat infection DO get up and close rear door and window flaps..that did cause inner puddles.)
We always shook top of tent on porch as water could pool, but generally we just unzipped at one side and slipped through..the front door is vertical when zipped so a bit puzzled (I don't have a side door as we have an older 600. With gales we did get a puddle on porch ground sheet one day(not bathtub) but given the wind speed and rain mm I was not in the least surprised.
We were also on mud and none of ours seaped through the ground sheet although when we struck camp and I looked at what was beneath I was fairly amazed that it hadn't.
All in all we have always been very happy with this tents performance!
