Hi

We currently have a Conway Clipper and as a large family of four want to move to a tent with a lot more space.  We have seen the Outwell Nebraska XXL and were very impressed by the size and layout of the tent however there do seem to be a few threads suggesting water ingress in Outwells can be a problem in heavy rain. The Khyam Ultimate Classic looks like a nice tent, although I havent seen it in the flesh so to speak so cannot compare. Has anyone got any thoughts on the subject? Is the Khyam a better tent with its QE system, is the Outwell getting a bad press?

Any info would be gratefully received.

Regards

Beefy

Hi,

We bought the Outwell Nebraska XL, a few weeks ago, which leaked on all of the seams in moderate rain. This was very disappointing as we too loved the layout, light etc of the Nebraska. We sent ours back and had a refund. There does seem to be quality issues with this style of tent, as you say. It would be a great tent, if you got a goodun'

Prior to our leaky Outwell, we had a smaller Khyam QE tent, which was problem free and easy to put up. I can appreciate that it was smaller that the Outwell.

I personally feel that the Outwells are a great design, good layout and very light inside, with storage etc and would be great if the quality could be confirmed. Whereas the Khyams are a little less well designed inside and quite dark, but good tents.

We too have a similar dilema now we have no tent and my mind is awash with which one now. I have lost confidence in Outwell, but I am considering the Diablo 900, a Khyam or maybe the Vango Aspen range, although, Im not sure about the bedroom layout in that.

I hope that this helps a little !!!!!!

Hi Paula,

No, sorry I don't have any experience of Sunncamp tents, but I'm sure that there are plenty on here that have!

Good luck

Jo

Thanks Jo

It does look as if outwell has some issues.  Unfortunately live near ABC camping Swansea and don't know where to view Khyam to see if we like.  With regards to Sunncamp, our friends have an older Sunncamp tunnel tent which although fun to put up in a breeze and with no SIG has lasted well over 4 years and has never let them down (shortish summer holidays but involving wind and rain)

Regards

Beefy
