If you like the Rage 'Bodo' do yourself a favour don't buy it but go for the original design, the Khyam 'Sherpa' or Sunncamp 'Sunrise' These Rage people just do poor quality rip offs in my opinion. Stick with the main brands and go and see them first so you know you like what your getting!

No experience of Rage tents but have to echo spanielspartin the after sales care from tentastic is very poor.

I'm with you Caster. I have to say their after sales service was good for me, but if they had done the job properly in the first place I would never have had to find out what it was like. It is only so good because, as you say, they've had plenty of practice...

I was away last week ( Sandford ,Poole on a Sun £9.50 caravan holiday )and had a walk up to the tent field with a view to return there camping.
On the walk I recognised a Rage Bergen and noticed one of the poles was badly bent and although I didn't get too close to the tent for obvious reasons it looked as if it would have snapped in a strong wind.
Any one would think that it was only Rage tents that had faults. If you search on this site you will find that other more expensive tents have leaking problems, poor qulaity finish etc. But hush my mouth - we're not supposed to say anything detrimental about these as they cost loads and therefore have to be good.
Most comments about rage tents are from people who have have not had first hand experience of them or perhaps know someone who didn't erect the tent correctly and suffered the consequences but would rather blame the manufacturer.
I'm chuffed to bits with my Rage tent, which did exactly what a tent should over the summer.
It allowed me to go camping, chill with some buddies, and allowed the kids to completely forget the playstation/telly/computer for whole weekends at a time.
Rage tent off Ebay = bugger all ££, camping with friends and family = Priceless!
i love my rage tent!!! i have a rage bodo 3 and it is ace! we got it for 50 quid off e-bay, gave it a quick blast with some waterproofing (as we do with our other tents before we use them) and it has stood up to allsorts! yes i didn't pay much for it but i didn't want to for the odd weekend trip. This way i could stay dry and i had more money to spend on booze!

I'am the owner of the tent in the pics! it's a Hammer5 to be fair the weather that week-end was appalling and the site was exposed,it was blowing a full gale all week-end and with heavy rain. the tent didnt leak at all but yes it could not stand up to a force 8.
Yes the tent cost us little, but we only have the chance to use the tent at most for a week per season,so the cheap and cheerful option was the choice and that's exactly what you get. now the tent layout is great, and easy enough to erect with just the two of us.
tentastic replaced the tent (We live near to them and we made a visit to warehouse)
So it's not a tent I would recommend for the serious camper! but if like us for short stays or perhaps for those wanting to try camping and not wanting to pay to much before you commit then yes. we did get the chance to use it again this time although windy it stood up well. I'am happy enough with it. (was it due to not being erected right the first time?well lets just say I've done a bit before in Norway and other parts of the World under professional instruction!
and just for good measure and to provoke more comment! I bought a full set of delta pegs to steady the ship so to speak. TOP BIT OF KIT.
