When you say two sleeping areas, will they each be sleeping just two people (ie 2 double airbeds, for example) or would one need to sleep more, or accommodate single airbeds?

Do you prefer the bedroom inners to be next to each other, or apart?

Would you prefer to have a sewn in groundsheet, or a separate one?

Welcome to the site, by the way!

What about the Vango Oregon TBS 600, 2006 model is a bargain at £119.95 here

Or, if you fancied a canvas tent (which would last forever, if properly cared for) then what about the Cabanon Andorra which is a bargain at £179 here, and about £400 below the 2007 RRP.

Personally, I wouldn't go for a tent on ebay without a recognised name. That said, some popular models are available on there from good sellers (check feedback, of course) and there are bargains to be had.

It would be worth waiting for tent displays to go up again at retailers and having a mooch about to see what type of tent, and layout, best appeals to you. Can't see them pitching their displays in these high winds, though!

Thank you for your reply We are a family of two adults and two children a girl aged 8 and a boy aged 7 We want something you can put up quickly and we don't mind if it has a sewn in ground sheet the Vango TBS looks  very nice but think the canvas tent might be to big to store

Your budget is fine.

As for Ebay, as said already, stick to known brands and models and you should be OK - S/H tents can be great bargains.

Also look in the tent sale section on here.

If you find something that looks interesting and within your budget, post on here and you will get good feedback which would help you.

Hi,

I bought a Campus Indianna 8 in Aug last year for £199, 2 x indiv sleeping pods (sleeping 2 each) and one large sleeping pod. Loads of living space, but as it was just for me and my son I've now decided to sell and get something smaller. Have a look at my pics, its also on ebay under sporting/camping/tents/5-6 berth/campus.

It was easy to put up with just me and an 11year old.

We used it for 3 weeks in Fforest Fields and it was a god send, the rain didn't stop but we were snug and dry in our tent.

Good luck in your search

hi,cloggs

we got our vango venture 500 out of the loot for £60 and managed a week first time out,us and the 3 kids[10,8 and6 at the time]no problems.two bedrooms and reasonable living area, plenty of headroom and sewn in groundsheet at the front although we stuck a tarpaulin under the whole tent first.last year we got a gelert alaska 8 for £150 +£12 postage direct-they were £199 in the shops.you can have 4,3 or 2 bedrooms, but if you do leave out 2 of the rooms you will have an enormous living area.keep an eye out for second-hand ones,we love ours.
