We have a lovely Gelert Taal 8 dome tent but alas it's been on many many trips, overnighters and longer tours, in all weathers and is coming to the end of it's life I fear.  The daft people at Gelert have stopped making this fabulous tent and I've failed to find one for sale. So, I'm scouring around looking at alternatives.  Aztec Hawk 7 is the front runner. I'm particularly concerned about it's stability in wild weather - do you need to stake out 200 guy lines or not, and how quick it is to pop up.  A lot of our camping is 1 or 2 nights and I don't want a tent that takes longer than 20 minutes to pitch or takes a lot of drying out if it rains.

A new tent has to:

be simple and quick to put up (< 30 mins from pulling up on on the pitch, through blowing up mattresses and starting the bbq)

stable and weather proof (I've been camping and seen flimsy models flattened)

big enough for a family of 2+2 young children + occasional friends - my family sleeping in one bedroom for at least another season, move kids out later, and room in the living area for a picnic table and anything else one might want during inclement weather

Any comments from Aztec users?
