Seen it on the CrossCamping website where it says, "Do not confuse the 2007 model with earlier years as there are many changes on the 2007 model.".

Anyone know what's changed for this years model? I know CrossCamping would tell me if I phoned them up, as would Sunncamp, but I rather enjoy using this forum!!! And of course the info is then there for other lurkers!

as far as im aware the only change is that they have altered the design of the zips as this was the only problem on the 2006 model.

Hi Markos

Sorry if i have not explained well enough on my web site.

As you have correctly quoted i have stated "Do not confuse the 2007 model with earlier year etc". The reason for this is a number of retailers are still selling 2004-2005 models (with the zip out front panel). These earlier models do not have a sewn in ground sheet, larder, etc.

As for the changes from the 2006 model to the 2007 model :- Better zip system and the poles that run down the side have better pockets now.

With the new changes for this year there are many changes from the 2004 - 2005 model (earlier years).

I will go and change my web site now and make it clear.

Thanks for the heads up.

Regards

Gary

No need to apologise mate! I'm bowled over by the fact you've come to the forum, replied, and are now off to make an amendment! I take my hat off to you and wish more retailers were as efficient!

Thanks for explaining the differences. Have been hankering after this particular tent for a while now, and am eager to see it and look at these new pockets and zips.

"Better zip system and the poles that run down the side have better pockets now. "

i have read about leaky zips on older version.I have been offered this tent for £150.00, is it a bargin or should i avoid it

please advise

AFAIK it won't have a sewn in groundsheet, the doors will be removable and then reattachable further within the "tunnel" thus giving you a porch.

As for poles and pockets I have no idea!

We have just bought the 2007 vario 600 plus.As far as i know the differences between this and the previous model are-the bedroom configuration is now a 4 plus 2 rather than a 3 plus 3 but this suits us better. The hanging wardrobe has now been removed due to safety issues ,so we were informed, although the space is still there to use as you wish. The vario 600 plus has also 3 storage pockets,a long one between the bedrooms, and 2 on the side walls. Not sure whether sunncamp have altered the zips at all, although they had material over the top of them, maybe that's what they have altered.Although we have only used the tent once, last weekend,we were very impressed with the construction, features and size of the tent.Looking forward to Monday as we are off to the lakes, for a week in it.Hope this reply may help you somewhat.

Regards John and Barbara

We have been looking to buy this tent for months! Hope you don't mind if I ask you a few question?

You say the wardrobe thing has been removed due to safety, is the space still usable, is there anything something could be hung on in there? There's no chance the retailer you got it from had simply lost it?

How many of you are there? There's only the wife and I and we're wondering if it's a bit too big just for two? Haven't seen it in the flesh yet so to speak.

Do you think the size will bother any of the campsites?

Is it easy enough to put between two of you?

Any idea if you can get a Sunncamp "footprint" for it?

Where did you get it from, and how much was it?

Hi Markos

There are 2 rings at the back of the storage space where you could hang something on presumably. We actually put our porta potti in there. The information was as stated by the dealer, was that the shelving unit had been withdrawn for safety reasons.

There are only me and the wife, and a yorkshire terrier,we love the size of it.don't think it',s too big

Don,t think the size will bother any campsites if they already accept the larger tents.

Didn't have a problem at all putting it up ,just followed the instructions on sheet provided.

Not sure if you can get a footprint ,you would have to enquire about that if you want one.

We purchased the tent from springfields camping near halifax and paid 349 pounds for it.Ibelieve towsure are selling it for 329 plus there delivery charge ,but you would have to check this out.We also wanted to see it in the flesh, and springfields had the 600 on display which is roughly a metre or so smaller in length.

Hope this helps-John and Barbara.l

ler in length.

Cheers John & Barbara, very much appreciated! I think you've just swung the needle back towards the plus, away from the 600, for me!
