Hi,

can anyone recommend a 1 / 2 man tent for my son (who is 12) he is moving out of our family tent so the girls can have a room each! (which they dont at home!)

I wondered about the pop up tents, but the cheaper ones are only single skin, or the inner is mainly mesh, will he be warm enough??

then i wondered about the little tents with just one pole.

I have mainly only had anything to do with family sized tents so any advice and suggestions for a little tent would be much appreciated.

Hi ,My eldest has a Vango Delta 300 that he uses as a pup tent ,you can also get the 200 .

Great tent ,have used it myself!!

The decathlon pop ups are fab, but you need to practice packing them down and they do take up more storage room than a conventional tent, because of their disc shape when packed.Once you have it sussed they can be both pitched and packed in seconds!

These are double skin, and great, easy little tents.

We use them for stopovers, in France, and can even stop in a layby (or 'aire') as they are so simple, and require only minimal pegging and guying (we didn't peg or guy at all, one calm night). That said, they have also stood up admirably to high speed winds (deffo guyed, on that occasion!)

What ever you buy for him I hope he enjoys his first tent as much as I enjoyed my first tent!!

I bought my partner one of these for weekend wild camping and we put it up on Sunday.  I didn't pay £85 though, more like £30 something so shop around.  You can sit up in it and put your stuff between the tent and the zip up bit.  Seems quite doody.

We have Decathlon pop-up tents as  pup tents for our trailer tent - go up in seconds, go down in a few more seconds, and can be packed flat inside the trailer tent!  I've camped in one in  deluges, high winds and thunderstorms with no problems at all.
