Bought our tent last spring and used a couple of times last year. Rains in August caused leaks in a couple of places around the sides of the tent - by peg and guy rope ties. We assumed we could just put something - sealant? - around the stitching at a later date. Anyone have any suggestions? (we kind of assumed that this happens to everyone and didn't think of contacting supplier - too late now!)

If you can't take it back have you got the little bottle of seam settlant that it came with?
I'm assuming you got this as it came with my monty 6, and some material to patch with, and a spare guy. All in the peg bag.

Easier to deal with leaks than trying to return the tent - Thanks, Happy Hippy, will look for that little bottle - hope it hasn't fallen out anywhere cos I can't remember seeing it! I assume you just put it on like glue?

Our Monty 12 had a couple of drips quite near to the doors after a night of heavy rain and wind - not too bad at all considering how bad the weather was. I know that everyone would prefer a tent that doesn't leak but a few dabs of seam sealant should do the trick. Just bear in mind you may have to remove the offending seam tape which is applied at the factory and seal the whole seam if necessary.
The outwell cards that are attached to the bag tell you all about it.

The warranty should still cover this, if you purchased under 12 months ago.
I'd ring the supplier, before attempting to fix it. You never know; you might be pleasantly surprised!
Just like to say, albeit rather too late after last post to have anyone ever read this, that we used it in the terrible gales and rain last May half-term; it leaked; I phoned PJ Camping in St Albans, and they sorted out an exchange immediately, and with new model! - Thanks PJ! No probs since then. Outwell Montana is a great tent - we love it!
