The old tv progs mentioned on another thread reminded me of a couple of classics.....
The snooker commentator (Whispering Ted Lowe, was it?) who said something along the lines of "For those of you watching in black and white, the pink ball is the one next to the yellow"!!!
And some nondescript female newsreader on t' wireless reading out the tennis scores...
"So and so beat such and such in four sets....6 minus 3, 6 minus 4, 2 minus 6, 6 minus 4".
Any other classic goofs that stick in your mind?

Some of these are unlikely to be true,ie
17. True story... a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed
to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked... "So Bob,
where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?" but still funny.

You misquoted, Miserly.
It actually said "...... and say no more about it!!"

If memory serves, what Whispering Ted Lowe actually said was "........and, for those watching in black and white, the Brown is next to the Blue""
not that it's fundamental - the principle is the same.
There are a lot of howlers in the books 'Colmanballs' which I always felt was a misnomer. They should have been called 'Walkerballs' because there always seemed to be more from Murray Walker, such as ...........
"...... and don't forget that this car is unique. Except for the one behind it - which is identical"!
