Hi Jason,
Thanks. I googled them after my post, saw the st Ives shop and then realised we have had them from here before

I have read Carnewas tea rooms is good for cream tea. In the absence of hearin from dippy as to the farm shop tea rooms, can anyone better this place for cream tea in that general 15 mil radius?

If you are in Newquay and get hungry try Pauline's, excellent food. I always buy a cream tea for my mum and bring it home for her. It's the only thing she asks for.

Pengenna pasties also have a shop in St Ives. No trip is complete till we've had one. They also make up boxes of 12 if you preorder to take home with you, and if memory serves they also send them out by post . We've also had nice meals at 'The Bird in Hand' next to Paradise park in Hayle.

They also have one in Bude.

Mind you the one in Tintagel is the other end of the village from where I live.  Not to far the travel for a Pasty.

Lappa Valley Railway just outside Newquay is a nice half day out & a trip up the river Fal on a nice day is a must, We go into Truro early-ish & catch the Enterprise boats service, http://www.enterprise-boats.co.uk to Falmouth, have a mooch & some dinner in Falmouth before catching a boat back to Truro where we spend the rest of the day

Porthcurno beach is lovely, about a 5 min walk from the car park with a cafe at the top, so get what you need before you get to the beach.  The Minack theatre is just above the beach and worht a visit too.  There can be massive waves at times and as the beach is on quite a slope, you get some massive breakers, but be careful if bodyboarding etc.

The Sheaf of Wheat in St Ives does nice cheap (well cheap for Cornwall) meals too.

LOVE Cornwall, it is my second home!   My family has gone to Mawgen Porth at least once a year since Cornwall was invented! (OK a slight exagaration, but my Grandparents used to go there for holidays, have fond memories as a child down there and now have convinced my wife that we have to go down there for at least a long weekend once a year!)

Everyone above has listed great places to go however would recommend the Cornish Arms at St Merryn (its is owned by Rik Stein) and also fish and chips in PadStein from the one and only shop at the old railway station!

If your into cycling recommend the Camal Trail, from Padstow - Camelford - Bodmin.  A great day out, nice cycle with some nice tea shops along the route.   Cycle hire in all three towns is not to expensive either!

enjoy!

Top Tips coming.......

If you are in Mevagissey there is a pasty & cake shop opposite a take away chip shop.....Wait until about 4:45pm and they offer all the Pasties for £1 and the cakes are 50p.

Me and wifey had very good selection and managed to keep some for lunch the next day !! ...They were rather jummy to.

If you get to the large carpark just outside the village after 4pm then the man in the shed has gone home and you 'only' have to pay £2 at the machines. (Its £3:50 for 4 hours before 4pm)

The above is correct as of last weekend when we spent a couple of days at the LLawnroc hotel in Gorrans Haven.

I have been talking to someone on a campervan forum who lives in Cornwall. I sent him my list of things to do compiled from people here and my own experiences and below is his response. At some point I will re-post my to do list including his ideas so others can have an easy list to copy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pretty comprehensive list you have there. Newquay can be a bit grim in the wrong parts but IMO, much of it is very underrated - the beaches are great and if you avoid certain spots, it has some pleasant bits.

In Newquay itself, this might sound odd but the Pizza Express is VERY nicely located and worth going to - great views. It's on Cliff Road nr the Station. Bodhis is a little cafe overlooking Fistral - simple but nice food and great views.

Further outside the town if you have a spare evening and want a cracking meal, the Scarlet Hotel in Mawgan Porth does some amazing food - one of the best places in Cornwall. Pricey but quite an experience.

There's a lovely country pub in St Newlyn East called the Pheasant which has a nice local feel but also visit the Smugglers nr Holywell - proper old fashioned pub that's worth searching out.

Another nice spot is Devoran - overlooks an estuary and the pub there is great. It's a good base for cycling the Bissoe Trail to Portreath too with a nice cafe stop at Bissoe itself.

The Roseland Peninsula is very nice indeed - if you want to head for the spot in my avatar, look up West Portholland. Total blissful seclusion. For nearby pubs, head for the Roseland Inn in Philleigh or go to the lovely Portscatho. St Mawes is also very nice - a very well heeled spot with a number of great pubs and another belting place to eat - the Hotel Tresanton. Again it has stunning views and is pricey but very special indeed. It's run by the Hotel Inspectors Mum, Olga Polizzi!

We visited Rick Steins fish and chip place at Falmouth last year. We had the Monk Fish which was delicious but everything was pricy - paying for his name above the door

If you're going as far as The Lizard then the best pasties in Cormwall can be got from Anne's Pasties. Mmmmmmmm

When you are in Sennan, the restaurant overlooking the beach, imaginatively called The Beach is just out of this world - rather posh and pricey, last year it was our posh night out on the last night (my OH then proposed on the beach by moonlight, awwwwww, soppy bugger).

Also, the pub in St Buryan, on the road to the Minnack is lovely for pub grub.

My other fave place in Perranporth, which brings back excelletn childhood memories is on the main road, its called the Cottage Grill (I think it might just be called Cottage now) - it might be cack now, but it was amazing when I was 10! Lol

Lizard Pasty Shack for Leggies pasties. The ultimate in pasty-ness!! Tiny little hut on the green.

Buy one (or two!) a can of pop and mooch along the coast path to Lizard point. Perfect!!

Then stop by Cadwith and buy fresh fish from the boats that land on the beach and take it home for tea.

Cornwall at its tasty best!
