Hi Everyone
Well, we're having a lovely time here in the Peak District, what a beautiful area and one I can see us coming back to on a regular basis. The site is lovely and we have visited many of the suggested places. Buxton itself is beautiful, we particularly like the Pavillion Gardens where Bailey has been able to have a nice swim in the river. Castleton, as we already knew is lovely, got there early this morning to get parked but had no problem, lovely bacon sandwich from the bakers and again, Bailey able to have a paddle in the stream.
Sat in the tent on site now and it's pouring down, do we care? No not really as we'd enjoyed the best part of the day before we came back! There's a lovely dog friendly pub in Castleton so thinking of going back there tomorrow for tea.
Bakewell is a stunning place, lovely riverside walk, great market on a Monday - oh and Bailey managed a paddle, do you see a pattern emerging here?!!
Clover Fields is a beautiful site with lovely owners who make you very welcome. There's a lovely café on site that does a delivery service with whatever is available in the café brought to your tent/caravan on proper plates, we had chicken tikka on the night of our arrival and it was spot on.
Oh and one last point, I think adult only sites are the way forward for us. Can't believe how peaceful it is here. Wake in a morning and all you can here is the birds singing, bliss. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love fforest fields, but I think we've found an equally nice site here and closer to home, which is good for me as the only driver!
