thanks tigermouse will give that one a miss then..any body have any more info on elvington near york campsite and the fishing thanks.
Fender-man..Can only add to what I said in an earlier post..Elvington lake(1 lake of about 2acres) is about 1 1/2 miles outside the village of Elvington reached from the York ring road...Basically you park your caravan in old Stan's(the owner) substantial back garden next to one of his oranmental ponds(feed the carp in there on bread(no fishing though)He has a large ornamental pond just outside the back of the house with some large ghost koi in...The lake is only 50steps from your caravan and the fishing is £5 per person for two rods..The lake holds carp to at least 20lbs..Tench to 7lbs large Perch.. Bream..roach...and from what someone else said..Large Cats!!!! Several other fisheries in the area nearest being round the next bend in the road to Weldrake(turn right out of Stans gate)..I enjoyed my 2 week stay only 2 gripes 1) Toilets and showers a bit basic..2) no dog walking on site...had to take the dog along a country road to find a field for her to run in..They also do NOT allow dogs around the lake...Though their own dogs were immune from this rule...
