we've all got bikes and I  find the best place for us to go is along the towpath of the river lea, as in 'no hills' . there's a choice of pubs all only a few miles apart to stop for a 'breather'. lovely in the summer and on our doorstep.

Well I have just got back from a 30 mile circuit of the River Tyne from my lofty home here in Gods Country and started to climb up the hills we could hear a whistling and thought someone was flying a hawk but as we rounded a corner we seen it was a pair of Red Kites flying and gathering nest building materials.

This was about 5 minuets from my house I know they are a bit early but it was great to watch from about 20 metres away

With 60+years of cycling both racing and touring I have at the moment 7 bikes these consist of my Dawes audax, Dawes tourer, another Dawes set up on fixed gear a 1960,s Holdsworth, two folding bikes plus a no suspension mountain bike set up for roughstuff touring. At present my wife as two ladies lightweight bikes a Carlton and a Orbit and I have 5 spare frames plus not sure about how many wheels. We have sold the tandem but thinking of getting another. What noncyclists don't realise you need this number of bikes as each one is for a specific purposes. Its just the same with canoes and kayaks thats why I've got 5 and I'm looking at an inflatable, I do need one and my wife agrees.

Hi holly7141.

That's some bike collection you have, I only have three, Trek 930 Chromo MTB Spectro P7 (1986), Ti Hack Bike Spectro P7 and a Ti Rohloff touring bike, all 26" wheel and all hub gears, you can have a peak at my Touring bike at www.spokewrench.com mine is the bike from Andy UK, they are a Canadian bike firm but seemed to like my all Ti Hub gear bike.

          Keep peddling.........Andy.
