Eurgh, wish I hadn't seen the photo of Spanish City - I was once really ill after getting off a waltzer there (we'd gone to the funfair with really bad hangovers - big mistake). We're in N Leeds and everything by Kay Mellor seems to be filmed around here (Fat Friends to name but one). My Dad's favourite pastime is walking his dog past the acres that make up the Emmerdale set (after it relocated from Esholt). The fact that Harry Potter was filmed at Alnwick Castle made the visit much more interesting for our kids (OH and I were tickled pink about it being used for BlackAdder!) The opening shots for Bottom were filmed in what is now the Broadway Shopping Centre above the Hammersmith tube station. I don't think we've actually gone somewhere because it was used for a shoot - but if we're in the area it's fun trying to spot the bit 'from the film.'
Musn't forget the Rossendale Valley - Bacup - Juliet Bravo, Oranges are the only fruit, Girls Night Out, Hetty Wainthrop, League of Gentlemen - Survivors filmed in Rawtenstall and Haslingden - and a TV thriller I think it was on C4 - can't remember the name but they changed Bacup Library into a police station for the day!
One of our local police stations was used a few months ago as Weatherfield Police Station in Corrie, and some of Hetty Wainthrop was filmed on the moors just up the road from here. The 1960s films the Family Way (John and Hayley Mills) and Spring And Port Wine (Susan George) were filmed here in Bolton, as were parts of the film A kind Of Loving. Parts of the old 1934 Gracie Fields film Sing As We Go were also filmed here, in fact the mill featured in the film was where my dad worked in the office and he was also roped in as one of the 'extras'.
There was a tv series several years ago - can't remember the name of it but it was set in Northern Ireland - which was filmed where a couple of streets of terraced house were being demolished, they were supposed to have been destroyed by bombs. Also another area of the town doubled as Beirut in a programme a while ago, and the front of our town hall was the front of some foreign embassy somewhere.

The League of Gentleman was nearly all filmed in Hadfield, Derbyshire.
The Royal episode with soapy fish and chips was filmed at the end of my road in Bridlington.
I love Brid my old fellas had a caravan at south Cliff, I used to love that cafe at the side of the harbour as u walk in from south side, sitting in the top bit but last time i went it was roped off. Damn i was 18 then , used to be black coffee starters, midday breakfast, pub, girls then back for the nightclub at south cliff. Always seemed to be a minibus from Hull kicking off. and great people from Leeds
Not sure if it's the same night club, I sometimes do Cabaret or karaoke's at Maki's, which is the first night club on the left as you come in from the main road, but there is another one nearer the beach.
There is a cafe on the left as you go down to the harbour car park, probably the one you are mentioning.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Casualty is filmed round here - its spot the high rise. Then there was Fools and Horses, Skins, that one with him from teachers with her who was psychic.
I have always wanted to tour film locations, especially the old british horror film locations.I found out, that a lot of the old british horror films were filmed in the back gardens Bray Studios and Pinewood Studios.A lot of movies used the woodlands of Black Park Country Park in Buckinghamshire.
Here is a good link to a typical movie location,of a film called: The Devil Rides Out
