Hello wh1tey, that depends. When set up, there is not much space on my son's bike below his front wheel. If the suspension dips & the kids front wheel touches the ground say when cornering, it could make the whole thing very unstable. Go to Halfords & ask them to demonstrate the thing on similar bikes. I'll weigh it & let you know about postage. Drop me your email adress & I'll send you some photos.
Mine has a quick release from the childs headset, it is bolted to the adults seat stem. A clip is provided to stow the tow bar on the adult bike. It collapses like a telescope & folds for storage. The bike does not need to have the tow bar removed to be ridden solo. A quick release handle & second towing bracket is available from the supplier if you want to fit it to a second adult bike. Also you can buy more of the brackets to fit the tow bar to a second childs bike.
Just checked the Trail Gator web site & it does say they will work with suspension bikes though
