Been a long long time ago ( 1978 ish ) and the boat trip was the highlight of our holiday. If you go take a full day for it, the visitors centre well supplied and the walk over to the lighthouse worth the effort. When you have done the physical bit the beaches on the Island are sheltered and very sandy and the bathing is safe.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

I went along time ago as well. However much the boat trip is , the gorgeous chocolate that the monk's make, more then makes up for it.

went on boat trip around caldey 2 years ago.great fun riding into the waves and stopping in the small coves watching the seals basking on the rocks.definitely go again.

went in the early 80's. youve brought back brill memories. i loved the place. i was only about 14 when we went. loved going across on the boat. my mum and sister were sea sick, bleer! the monks used to make their own perfume from the roses on the island.
