Depending on your age and whether or not you have children (and their ages) there's loads to do - but I can't remember most of it!

Lindisfarne (check the tide tables) Really nice.  There's lots of places to eat and wander around

The Alnwick Garden (pay for entry, but we like it!  Great for kids to run around)  There's Alnwick Castle, too, but I've never been there.

Bamburgh Castle (pay for entry - it's just a big grand old castle - we like it!)

There are some fab beaches at places like Seahouses and Beadnell.

There is a honey bee farm - free entry, not much there to be honest but there's nice food served on an old bus...  Oh, and lovely honey!

Lastly: Take your waterproofs - you may well need them!

Alnwick Castle is very expensive - Cragside is a good one for all ages and great beach at Druridge Bay - worth joining the National Trust as there is Cragside, Wallington, Lindisfarne Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, Gibside, Cherryburn, Souter Lighthouse and others in the area to visit.

We've just got back today ; didn't want to come home !

We go every year , and if staying a few days we get a week long parking permit ; it's £11 this year . Saves having to have change for parking , and can be used at most of the car parks .

Forgot to mention Barter Books in Alnwick if you get near that area.  Usually I'm a bit squeamish about 2nd hand bookshops but this is another matter. It's an amazing place, children will love it & the selection of books will keep you busy for hours, particularly on a rainy day.
