There should be loads of mackrel around at that time of year, these are very easy to catch from habour walls and jettys, a bit harder from the beach but if into deepish water OK. Just use feathers or any thing which sparkles (cost about a pound a packet) cast em out and pull back in, great, you can catch 6 at a time when they are about.
If thats not for you just fish on the bottom with some lug or rag worm you might get a bass or pollock if you are lucky. There are usually some school bass about in the esturys in that area.
Or stick on a dexter wedge, these will catch most types of fish that are about.
