We have a 10ft inflatable that we wish to launch on Derwentwater. The marina have quoted us £25!!! And they stated that everyone around charges the same. Has anyone any experience of a place (even an easy layby) where we may be able to launch near Keswick please?
Thank you.
If you head down Borrowdale there are a few parking areas and pull in spots alongside the lake where you may be able to launch. I can't guarrantee it mind but it would probably be worth the drive to have a look.
Yes there is a car park in amongst some trees on your right when heading to Borrowdale, it is a pay and dislay and you can launch from the shore. I`ve launched my canoe from there lots of times.
Where are you staying? The Keswick C&CC site charges £3.20 per day but I know people have floated inflatables for nowt. A boat at this site is a very good idea.

That would be perfect. Do they let you launch if you are not staying there?
We have a static now so no touring. But we used to go to Parkfoot and launching is free. However if you are not staying there you can launch all day on Ullswater for £4. So, I was hoping this would be the same system.
