My boyfriend often tells me he wouldn't mind camping so much if there was something he could get into...i.e last year we won tickets for Truckfest SW which had camping so he had a 'interest'
Any suggestions as to where might be 'interesting' with camping? I am struggling here! I love camping and just like the quiet times by the tent and eating outdoors off the bbq and a firepit by evening - but itd be nice to be with him doing something in the daytime - as I often end up camping alone!
He likes cars, anything motorised, fairs and festivals. Thankyou for your help in advance.
I go to various Land Rover shows throughout the year........
There are also plenty of music festivals, its not all Glastonbury! As Ratty says, the Elvaston Steam Rally could be worth a punt.
Might look into that myself!

My wife doesn't pick up a rod all year, but when we go away she really enjoys it!!
If he likes cars, how about the Drag Racing at Santa Pod - great fun and you can camp locally as well. You can camp at Santa Pod if you don't mind it basic and sometimes noisy late.
Probably all car shows & motor racing events have camp sites nearby.
What about the great dorset steam fair? Its in Dorset & its great! They have camping - its not all steam. They have all sorts of vehicles, music, stalls, markets demonstations etc.
If you go looking you will be surprised just how many vintage car shows, steam rally's and other outdoor events there are. I live about 10 miles from Sandringham and they seem to have an event of some description just about evry other week. A search on Google might prove interesting.

We can hear Santa pod from our house, sounds fun, never been
Thank you soooo much everyone! Lots of choice there
Elvaston is a good idea (Thanks Ratty) also we have Truckfest local to us in Haydock. We have arranged a week in Wales staying at his dads cottage, but til now no further plans to camp - ill have to get my thinking cap on!
3 days is long enough for him cos he is not a huge camping fan Ill bring him round!
The weekend before last we camped at Croft race circuit for British Touring Cars, a lot of the race tracks have campsites nearby or temp ones in a field near by.
Here's one not too far away, the Cumbria Steam Gathering at Flookborough, last weekend in July. It's huge, and there's something for everybody - the dancing sheep are brilliant! It's about £10 to get in but well worth it, and parking is free. No public camping at the show but there's loads of campsites not too far away.
Also the Corwen vintage show in North Wales, about 10 miles west of Llangollen, on Sept 18th/19th. There's public camping at that one, £30 for the weekend from 12 noon Friday, which includes entrance to the show for two adults on both days plus evening entertainment.

Just thought of two more - the Great Eccleston show on July 17th/18th, features tractor pulling which I'm sure your boyfriend will love. Very noisy but great fun to watch. Also the special tractor pulling event on August 28th/29th, which features a floodlit pull on the Saturday evening. Afaik there's no public camping, but I can recommend a wonderful little site not too far from there if you're interested.
