Great video, not sure how that will be on a long ride, if you are thinking of hauling a load of kit, check out the Big Dummy from Surly.

A bike thats made for hauling stuff.

Had it out today and it worked well but I feel I may have to add a bit of strengthening to the first hinge on the seat post bracket as it's twisting a bit more than I like.

General things that I intend to carry are tent, clothes, cooker, pots n pans etc, so not a great deal, may think about using a dry bag instead of the crate yet.

I like the suspension spring you have fitted, i bet you had a lot of problems with it jumping around before you fitted that?

To be honest I didn't really try it without it but I think I could be the first to have the suspension at the front, it works well there as when you pedal off there isn't any tug at the back of the bike and I have also tried braking hard and it seems to prevent any shunt.

A little fact I feel you should  rememberallow needs to  be checked,   I am hoping to start cycle camping this year had thought of the trailer but stopped as I will be travelling by train and the train companies in my area allow cycles but not cycle trailers, so I invested in Panniers,  for speed and counted the weight, so far my collection only weighs in at such a low figure my cycle can cope, if you both have panniers youll be fine,

You are totally right about the trains with bulky trailers although Oxtail trailers seem to have the answer as their trailer folds small enough to be classed as luggage.
I wont be using trains myself as the plan is to travel to a campsite with the family and caravan and then tour the coast with friends. On my trailer the swan neck unbolts and also the crate can be removed for stowage in the caravan when traveling, the bike will be taken on a bike rack on the car.
