Went fishing to Arnside last night - high tide at 5pm - I didn't catch anything but my son caught a Flounder which weighed in at about 1lb.

Hoping to get have a few sesions in next week, we are off to Staithes just above Whitby.

Last year me and the youngest went out in a boat for 3 hours and caught nout then in the afternoon we set up on the beach and in 40mins caught 3 dabs on lug and 40 or more mackral on feathers. And a dog peed up my tackle bag , I love dogs but couldn't eat a full one.

I have got myself one of those expandable crab/lobster nets, I think I'll walk out at low tide chuck it in and see what I can catch by the following low tide.

As I've told my psychiatrist, you can't have too many tents.

Hello anglers, i was wondering how many of you go sea fishing. I try to go as often as i can when i'm camping near the beach. I go to Dungeness a lot as you have deep water and you can camp near the lighthouse, thats if you have a campervan or a motorhome. There is no parking charge either. Tent camping i've not yet seen there yet. It's about a 3 minute walk to the beach. Another place i go is on the isle of Sheppey at a place called Leysdown, just along the sea wall. You  climb over the 3 foot sea wall and your on the beach, high water fishing only as the sea goes out quite far. Most weekends you see campervans and motorhomes parked up all night, only a few go fishing though. Again no parking charge. Do any of you sea anglers know of any places where you can camp up near the beach and with a short walk do a spot of sea fishing?

List a few places if you don't mind. Also whats your favorite bait, mines mackerel, then lug then squid, i've not used peeler crab much..

Tight lines fellers

hi brion this is a rather late reply but i've just seen your post asking if anyone knows where you can park your motor home as close to the beach as possible when fishing....! i read that you fish in leysdown on the isle of sheppey..., well there's a place on the isle of sheppey called bartons point and there's a stretch of road opposite...., on that stretch of road there's a turning that takes you onto the beach and you literally step out and you're 4 foot away from the sea.....! if you do decide to go there and get lost, just ask someone where bartons point is, once you're there you will see the stretch of road i was talking about...., the turning onto the beach is between bartons point and the white house hope this information serves you well mate
