Apologies if this has already been covered, I did a search but couldn't find anything already posted.
You may already beaware of the ICE campaign to put a flag on contacts in your mobile phone to contact in an emergency. This is a scheme to enable you to send an emergency SMS message to the emergency services... http://www.emergencysms.org.uk/ or Google 999 sms. Sometimes a text message will get through where a phone call won't, very useful in the mountains where a signal can be dodgy at best or people with a hearing disability. This is a free service and recommended by Mountain Rescue and the Coastguard and in my opinion a life saver.

------------- "People sleep peacefully in their beds at night
because rough men stand ready
to do violence on their behalf."
Interresting, but it does need you to register your phone & is only for those with hearing loss or who cannot speak according to the literature. More info HERE.
ive just come back from a long weekend kayaking with a group and one of the members had a phone that will auto dial 3 preselected numbers including the emergency services if the phones does not move in a certain amount of time, ideal for outdoor sports plus was good to 30 meters under water to will get name and post tomorrow
------------- If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
