Hi folks. We are heading to the Isle of Wight in a few weeks time and cant wait. I have a wee list of things to see and do while we are there. Fingers crossed the weather will be nice while we are there and we can pay a visit to the sea. I know there are many beaches on the island but just wondered if there are any in particular that we should visit. Im not too fussed for busy overcrowded beaches though. Any suggestions welcome

we go to the IOW several times a year. the beach from Shanklin towards Ventnor is great for fosil hunting. and the pub on the Beach is a good watering hole at the days end also.
fell in love with the Island when I was based there nr Newport in the 90s four quite good years. Then Dartmoor for six years "cold but nice" alas now based in Suffolk not quite the same. but could be worst.
Whitecliff Bay is lovely. I went to boarding school at the top of the cliff - lucky lucky! It is quite a trek down to the beach from the top of the cliff though.
Whenever we can we go to St Helen's duver. It has parking nearby (pay and display but worth it, i think it may be run by the national trust now) and there are loos at one end. There is a long row of beach huts and somewhere there is a little refreshment kiosk too. It is lovely. My family live in Cowes but this is our beach of choice.
Hope this helps.
