Please can you help me please,i am staying at Wareham Forest,Dorset in September,do you know of any dog friendly
beaches in the surrounding area ?
I am not sure of the area but i do know there are lots of cliffs around,so need a nice flat beach away from them.
Any help on this would be great thank you.

Studlan have a couple of dog friendly. Leashed at this time of year but as you get into September the rules may be relaxed. I know one is Shell bay next to the chain ferry as we spent 3 days on it week before last. I am sure there is one other too. There are also huge dune/heather walks around there.

Hi Freya,

We stayed at Wareham Forest last week (wonderful site).  Having eaten something that upset his tummy, our Pointer was unwell whilst we were there so we didn't venture to any beaches, so I can't answer your question, but as Steve says the heathland around there is huge.  You can actually walk straight onto the vast "Sika Trail" from the the dog walk area of the campsite and if you ask at reception, they'll give you a little map of the trail.

Hope you and your dog have fun.  'Plenty of bunnies around the site to give him/her something to watch in the evenings

When I stayed in Birchwood Tourist Park a couple of hundred metres down the road from Wareham Forest Tourist Park, I took the dog to Swanage and Sandbanks, and he definitely perferred Sandbank as there were more sections where he could run free and had sand baths.

We shall definitely return to Sandbanks in September when we camp at Birchwood.

You sound careful anyway but if you do the walk up to Old Harry at Studland (the cliffs just to the south of the beaches towards Swanage) please make sure your dog is on the lead. There's dogs go over the edge all the time - another one just a week or two back.
