Hello All

We are doing 2-3 days in the lakes and we have never been, we are after peoples views what to do / places to visit, on scenery, waterfalls, we like crabbing, walks as long as its not steep, and best point for sunset views and cheap things to do.

Please help us

It's a big place so where abouts will you be?  there are lots of nice marked off walks that suit casual walkers.  Have a look on this page at the easy walks section.

No walk is complete without a good meal and a drink at the end but you will find plenty of places to do that.  Not sure you will find crabbing though, unless you are near the coast.

2-3 days isn't long enough so you wil lreturn after your first visit. A walk that is not steep (and there are few of those) would be around Derwent Water at Keswick.  Start from the Boat launch spot and just follow the path south. The path around the Lake is obvious. About a four hour amble.

Another would be from  Grange, at the southern end of Derwnet Water, alongside the river to Castle Crag. A Wainwright Fell. You do have to walk through the magnificent Borrowdale and if that doesn't make you want to revisit and revisit nothing will.

To the North of Keswick is Latrigg Fell. Start at the Swimming Pool. It is not that steep a fell and once on top you have the most fantastic view across the town and Derwentwater to Catbells. Return journey is a gentle slope back down the other side onto the old railway line and back to the swimming pool.

Well thats your three days taken care of!!!!
