Topic: Macclesfield Forest
I went for a Hike . Started at Langley at the Ridgegate reservoir. Headed North up steep lane throught the forest passingTeggs Nose upto Walkers Barn then Came downhill onto The A537 Cat & Fiddle road . Turned and headed on down the Lane past the barn and little church to Teggs Nose Country park and stopped for lunch . Sat admiring the Panoramic view of the Countryside and Shutlinglow . As I headed away from rest area the wind was getting stronger Gusting and very bracing around 30mph . I followed the track South Following the wayside markers for the Gritstone Trail . Which led me to the Quarry area . There was a lot of historical machinary left as relics of the past . A rock Crushing machine . A slab cutter for paving flags . And a selection of Cobbles Stones from the quarry on display . Being high up over a thousand feet the Scenary is spectacular . I could see all across the Cheshire Plain and in the distance could see Jodrell Bank . I carried on down the track decending on a very steep trail . Eventually came out at Bottoms reservoir . And out onto the roadway headed back upto the starting point . over 2 hours walking about 5/6 miles . Very enjoyable .
