Does anyone know if there is such a thing as either a book or a website that details campsites which have good walks direct from the site. We have a motorhome so having to pack up and drive from site to start of walk is a pain.

We are members of www.walkingworld.com If you put in the postcode where you are staying it will give walks in the area. You can then print off the walks complete with ordnance survey map. There is an annual fee of about £16 or you can pay for the walks on an individual basis. We find the annual fee is less than we would pay buying individual walking books and maps for each campsite we travel to.

We just pick a site after studying the OS map for the area we want to walk . We've never found the need to drive off site to do some really good walking . The only issue comes if you wish to stay in one place for an extended period . But if you do your home work public transport can get round the problem of getting from or to the start of a walk . Many area such the peak district .lake district .snowdonia and north Yorkshire have special buses layedon for walker .

Camping and Caravanning Club have a Walking section and they walk from sites all over the country every week.

Also if you use the OS website 'Get a Map' you can find any campsite on it and plot your routes directly onto the on line maps, (footpaths of course are on map), view the route on satellite image, save them in your folder on the website and them print them out, this is free but if you subscribe you can print the maps out in 25000 and have full screen view of OS map.
