We bought an Infinity two summers ago and it was just over £200 new but I've just had a quick look on the web and they've gone up in price. A lot.

Check out the "song of the paddle" website as they often have decent second hand ones for sale and you'll get loads of sensible advice.

Happy paddling.

Sorry to pee on your chips, but an inexperianced paddler, inflatable kayak on the Cornish coast, bay to bay

Inflatables are only suitable for carm flat water, find yourself some nice inlets without much tidal pull and have some fun there, don't risk the sea.

Sorry just my opinion.

As I've told my psychiatrist, you can't have too many tents.

I agree we only use ours on sheltered coves or lakes. Paddled across a bay few weeks back with 1 foot swell and lightish wind and it was really hard work, was overtaken by a proper sea kayak with ease.

I agree with James, we have a sevylor and have only used it in calm waters (lakes and canals), it gets blown easily off course and is hard to control compared to a hard shelled proper one. I have a friend that has been out at sea, but only in very calm water.

I am surfing in Cornwall this summer at Bude and knowing these waters, I would be very careful.

I agree totally RAF . Inflatable sheltered bay or cove Inflatable and open sea real real trouble . Unless you know the sea were your going ? There's hiden dangers especially round headlands even on a calm day . The tide changes and what was flat calm is 6ft waves taking you in the wrong direction ! I'm not saying don't do it just be very carefull and take advice from people that know the area
