Hi WindyWendy
Me and my family are attempting to walk all the Wainwrights. We've managed 44 so far so only 170 or so more to go ! We managed 8 over the easter holidays so feeling very chuffed. Would do more but our girls complain if we do too much, they're only 10 and last easter renamed Bow Fell 'Bow Hell' !!
We seem to have done a ring around where we live so we've bought a pop-up so we can venture a bit further from home and stay overnight without having to deal with our humongous Outwell.
Heres hoping for a long dry summer (in my dreams !)
Happy walking everyone
Brilliant! I'd love to try and complete all the Wainwrights, our boys are 8&9 and although they like walking there's a certain amount of persuasion needed! We're hoping to get up Cat Bells at the weekend, fingers crossed there's no blinkin snow left...I am sick of the stuff this year!

Hi Wendy, I use this site it is predominately Scottish hills and walks but does have forums for walks outside Scotland. It includes thousands of route descriptions (including Wainwrights), gpx downloads and all round great sources of information.
I would have thought you would enjoy the user walk reports and photo threads. Here are a couple of links to recent reports of mine, a bit amateurish compared to some but I find them great to look back on Ben A'an and the Ochils

We have walked up Ingleborough and Whernside on separate occaisions. Ingleborough we did from Ingleton which was a straight up the hill and back the same way. it was steep in places and there is a more interesting and scenic route from Clapham past Ingleborough Cave and up through Trow Gill. (We did part of the route on another walk)
Whernside we did from Ribblehead alongside the railway line for a while then the path is a steady climb up the hill. The steeper bits are on the way down but are made easier as there are steps most of the way.
There is an alternative route for Whernside in this months Country Walking magazine.
I recently discovered the Walking Englishman website which recounts the tales of 3 walkers its informative with route details and ideas and also very entertaining.
