Looks like the sun is still shining, roll on the weekend!
I was just wondering if we have any festival goers in the forum? As a very lucky girl this year I was able to purchase Glastonbury tickets. I cannot wait! It's going to be hard though as there will 5 girls in an Vango Icarus 500 which I know is really meant for 4. I remain adiment that we are not taking much gear and will invest in a new garden cart at some point. 2011 was only 2 girls, myself and a friend and we had packed enough stuff for 2 weeks!
so let me know, are you going, what is in your kit & what can't you wait to see?
I'm going - but will be working on the Recycling Team and camping in the staff area. Don't really need to take too much gear, other than tent, sleeping bags/mats & suitable clothing as meals are provided. This will be my second year of working and my friend's 5th year.
Hi Jacqueline, good to hear from a fellow festival goer. Hopefully you get to see plenty of the line up in between your working and personal time. What do you think of the line up, it's abit strange this year I thought.
Should see quite a bit of the line up as the shifts are arranged so you work alternate mornings and afternoons. The supervisors are usually OK letting you arrange your breaks if there is a particular act you definitely want to see. 2011 we worked behind the market traders area, but this year we're working in the area behind the Pyramid and Other Stages so may even see somebody famous :D (probably technicians and stage hands in reality!)
I agree about the line up - but it should give me more time to explore away from the main stages. That's something I didn't really do in 2011 because I really wanted to see all the headline bands on the Pyramid stage.
The line up is definitely diverse! I hope to get into the area with the djs in the middle and spider scaffolding. Forgot the name shangri la?! I will explore more of Glastonbury this year definitely I hope they do sort out the access to pyramid though as at times this got a little scary...
You might just meet a very famous musician, keep a notepad and pen haft for autographs!
Yep Shangri La is the place. Spent the whole of one night there and watched the sun come up. On the way back to our tent we passed other revellers who'd fallen asleep on the piles of straw they put out to mop up the mud.
We are going
Ditto the lineup! I quite fancy doing some of the fringe
things like circus etc., I didn't like the Stones when they were current.
Our packing list is getting longer as well.
Haha! Woo, it's drawing ever so close! The line up to be honest isn't a total disapponent but as you said I will be checking out the other areas. Also I have now purchased my garden cart just needs putting together not sure if it'll fit in the car!
