Hi,
Hope this is the right place to ask this.
We are off to West Runton for a week with the kids and dog and I have been trying to find out if we can take the dog on the beech at West Runton, the map on the council site isn't all that clear and looks as though you only have to avoid the bit near the slip way.
I wondered if anyone on here had visited this area with a four legged friend and could offer advice/ suggestions where to go.
Thanks In advance

sorry, just read post,  have walked dog on beach between west runton and cromer, off lead, and noticed a few other dogs as well.  Obviously cleared up after her, but she generally prefers grass anyway, being the picky little lady she is.

That was a couple of years ago now so dont know whether its changed since then.

How funny. I was there yesterday. :)

Right, I can answer this conclusively. There is definitely a sign that says that dogs are not allowed on the beach between Easter and October.

however, I really wouldn't let that worry you too much because in the 2-3 hours I was there, I probably saw 20 dogs being walked along the beach. And this was the middle of the day with loads of families there, so it wasn't like they were trying to sneak on first thing in the morning!!

Also these were big dogs - chocolate labs, golden retrievers, GSDs. There may have been more little dogs, that I just didn't notice. :)

So I guess it depends how much you want to obey the letter of the law.

Oh, but on some days, they do have official rock pooling, with people from Norfolk wildlife trust or something. So if there are 'official' people there, then they may enforce the ban, I'm not sure.

HTH
