Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone has any hidden gems that they could share with us, we are in Hull and looking for somewhere an hour or two away for them weekend breaks. I have seen a few sites but was looking for something a little bit different or unique, there is only myself and girlfriend but I'll be honest I'm like a child. I have stayed at a few farms Filey way but once you have been FIley/Scarborough a few times they get boring. :-(
oh! a camp site your after. Was going to mention the penguins have arrived at the Deep but you will be well aware of that fact as your already in Hull.
Something a bit different! Unique! How about dangling under the Humber Bridge in one of those rock climbers suspended tent thingy's.
Look up HUTTON-LE-HOLE on the campsite search, spent many years of my youth in this village and surrounding area. The pub IS excellent! The sheep walk round smiling all day! Nice bit of trout tickling if your in to it? Take your mountain bikes.
Beware we drive on the right & left & middle of the road in this part of Yorkshire.
Happy Camping sunners.
Cleethorpes is worth a trip - and the Fishing Heritage Museum in Grimsby is worth a visit. We've camped at the Haven site, Thorpe Park there a number of times now. Quite pricey and not everyone's cup of tea but worth a look.
Allerthorpe near Pocklington is worth a look too - watersports centre in a great setting.
And whilst in Allerthorpe, (Heading from Pocklington), when you reach the watersports centre... turn around, and go back 50 Yards!!
On the opposite side of the road is a narrow lane that runs down the left hand side of the (now closed) golf course... and there, you will find the wonderfully quirky, and utterly charming Conifer Lakes.
Beautiful site. Stunning fishing lake. Wonderful owners. Excellent facilities. No kids (Well, no under 12's). Open all year.
A little piece of heaven... as good as on your doorstep! :-)
Some 18 month old pics Here and even more if you follow my link therein!
