We are off to the beautiful Loch Lomond for two weeks for our honeymoon in July we have hired a camper and are now trying to make a bit of a plan of places to visit from there, does anyone have any "must see" recommendations?

You'll need midge repellant at that time of year. Go on a boat trip from Balloch or the other small piers up the west shore. Fast road goes up the west shore (Luss site is therefore a bit noisy), but it has a cycle path along much of the "old road" which is pleasant to wander along - easy access from Firkin Point picnic site. Nip over to Helensburgh and visit Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House (bring your National Trust cards). Road along the south (Loch Lomond is triangular) is generally far from the shore except at Balloch, no particularly recommended sites east of Lomond Shores (which isn't on the shore). East coast road is bendy and steep in places, but gives you more of a flavour of Loch Lomond's famous oak woods (look out for wild goats), and you can get out to the islands from Balmaha. C&CC site at Millarrochy, Forestry site at Cashel nearby. Walk up Conic Hill (behind Balmaha) for a view and to say you've walked part of the West Highland Way. Or go to Rowardennan and walk towards Inversnaid & back. If you are fit and well equipped, climb Ben Lomond but it's a full day (don't wear shorts for hill walking - otherwise do check for ticks). Drymen has a few wee pubs & shops, but generally Loch Lomond is for DIY entertainment - ideal for a honeymoon. You'll need to travel out a bit if you want the bright lights of Glasgow. You could give Glencoe a visit...About an hour there and back from Loch Lomond...With a meal in the Clachaig Inn before you head back....

Inveraray is a lovely day out, a very pretty town with a 'fairy tale' castle and a jail . I haven't visited either for years but they are both recommended as worth visiting, there are lovely walks round about the castle too .

Either go to the George for a meal or if you like seafood go to the original Loch Fyne Oyster Bar which is about 10 minutes outside the town, not the cheapest but worth it, but if you don't want to eat there, they also have a 'deli' , if you like hot smoked salmon, the Bradon Rost is a must .

Inveraray is about 45 minutes from Loch Lomond.

Callander is an easy trip from Loch Lomond - you can park a camper/MH in the big car park behind the main street. Poppies Hotel there is lovely for a meal.

Queen Elizabeth Forest Park is lovely for a walking day out in Aberfoyle - again near to Loch Lomond.

You've picked a great place to stay, as there are so many day-trips in the country side, but you're really only about 40 mins from Glasgow City Centre.
