Can you recommend any "must dos" in the new forest? We're staying near bransgore and have a 10yr old and 7yr old. We'll be going to beaulieu and hopefully cycling too. I'd love to know where to go for a paddle in a stream or other beauty spots / great places to go.
------------- From tents to trailer tents to a tin tent to an air tent to trailer tent and back to tin tent!
There's a nice paddling stream at Balmer Lawn if you're in the Brockenhurst area. It'll be on the way to Beaulieu. There's a piece of wood on a rope that the kids use to swing into the river and a deeper area for a dingy.
And, as someone else has already mentioned, Bolderwood is good too and you should be able to see the deer this time of year as I think they're fed up until September.

We visited
recently for a long weekend and Moors Valley Country Park was great, we didn’t
cycle there but I know there were plenty of routes to follow, with different
sculptural equipment for the kids to climb and play on. You just pay for
parking for the day (£8 if I remember rightly)
Fordingbridge
was a lovely place also, it has a park right on the bank of the river which you
can paddle out in to easily, along with a permanent outdoor paddling pool in
the park, our kids really enjoyed a few hours here. I can imagine it gets very
busy in the summer however.
Moors valley is great - £8 does sound a lot but for a whole family for a whole day out is good value. Us locals don't usually pay parking as there are loads of places you can park on the perimeter and walk or cycle in. Means it's a longer walk though. There is parking on the road between Ringwood and Verwood and betn Ashley Heath and St Ives. Loads to do. The playtrail is excellent and ideal for your kids age. Go Ape or Segways are there but a lot more expensive but a great experience - might be able to use Tesco vouchers???? http://www.moors-valley.co.uk
