Probably way too late now but others may find it useful later.

We went to the forest camping with another couple (next door neighbours) who did some canapés for us when we had a big party at home. They would not take anything for it, so when we next went camping, I booked a surprise trip for all of us on horseback from a stable Here

Only cost me £140 quid for the four of us and was a good way to see bits of the forest for 4 non-horse riders at a walking (or max slow trot) pace.

New Forest Centre in Lyndhurst car park has loads of info. Lymington pleasant town good Saturday market. if you like gardens, Hillier gardens near Romsey, Exbury Gardens Exbury. National Trust , Mottisfont near Romsey. Beaches, Highcliffe castle, Bournemouth. Cycling from Brockenhurst Cycle hire. Walk maps from New Forest Centre. Loads to do.
