Just thought I would mention a plan C - Bettys in Harrogate, the original one, a short train ride and a lovely town. J x
Yes ..Harrogate is another place I would like to visit and by the amount of folks who have mentioned Bettys Tearoom, a visit is a must.
Not sure we will manage to visit Harrogate though as we only have 3 nights but I think a second visit next year to visit places we were unable to get to could be on the cards..Many Thanks..

I am sure we have chated about our past visits to Spain in the past so I would like to recomend a Tapas Bar so you can still celebrate in a Spainish way. I haven`t tried the York one yet but have tried the Leeds one twice this year and I was very impressed, in fact you feel that you are in Spain it is so atmospheric. Heres the link and I hope you and the Mrs have a lovely time in York. Also they will have a good veg option for the Mrs and some lovely wines and sherries to try. I tried the flight of sherry and the chorizo and potatoes are very nice for you.http://www.ambiente-tapas.co.uk/
Yes I remember we have spoke in the past about Spain..Villa Flamenca in Nerja being one..happy days!
Will check the tapas place you mention, you can never have to much tapas.
We were back in Benidorm, in the old town last October and again this April. We enjoyed some lovely tapas and some nice reds..
Many Thanks..

Hi KK..Noticed that a wee while back, didn't want to jinx it by saying I would pop up to see you all but that was my plan.
We will be back from York a day or two before your meet so fingers crossed.
Will give you a shout nearer the time to arrange the best day/time to visit..
Many thanks for the invite

Well this is our last night in York and would just like to thank everyone for their recommendations on places to visit and eat etc.
We really enjoyed the Railway Museum, the City bus tour and of course Bettys Tearoom.
Also a nice stroll through the Museum gardens and a drink at the bar by the riverside, where the boat trips leave from.
Also a food and drinks festival with local produce on till nearer end of the month, its located next to the street market,I think it was in the Newgate.
Good choice of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. 3 nights has not been long enough.
We have really enjoyed coming to York to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary.
