Have you ever done a Treasure Trail? We've done Buxton and Bakewell ones and they were both good. They get you out and about on a walk with a difference.

They cost £6.99. We normally pack a picnic and visit a bakers for a treat. Cheap family outing - everyone's happy. My kids are 9 & 11 by the way.

There's a good park in Buxton to visit too.

You are right on the Tissington and High Peak cycle trails of course, although the best one is the Monsal trail where you ride through all the old train tunnels. Quite a few bike hire places.

Chatsworth farm and adventure playground is fantastic. You can pay just for this without going in the house and gardens.

Arbor Low is interesting and Dovedale for walking.

The Country Park and Soloman's Tower at Buxton for free. Car park right next to the Caravan Club site

Ride up to Castleton for a trip down a Blue John Mine and a visit to the Museum in the town afterwards

Walk through Dovedale but Kids may not appreciate its beauty

Walk along the Roaches to Luds Church to the south of Buxton near Leek but....kids may not appreciate its beauty

Buxton Park for a ride on the miniature railway

Cookery class in Tideswell - depending upon their age

Take them to the Plague Village of Eyam to read all about the plague. Visit the museum there (adjoining the car park)Then at Eyam hall they can decorate a plate and go back at the end of the week to collect it after it has been fired etc.

Take them for a walk up Winn Hill and you won't hear a peep out of them all week!!!!

Up to Castleton and on to Hope and then turn left up through Bamford. At the top of the road turn left and first right after crossing the bridge over the Derwent Reservoir. Drive up for a mile or so and park in the car park and then walk to the Dam where the Dambusters used to fly over when practicing. Free apart from the parking charge

Phil
