Can't believe there is so much to see and do!

We are staying in Cheddar this summer as its part of England I have never visited.

My OH and I have an 8 year old daughter and I am making plans for sunny & rainy days.

So far I have managed to get the following list together;

Wookey Hole (using tesco clubcard vouchers)
Cheddar caves
Hire bikes and cycle the strawberry line.
Lots of walks
Bristol Science Museum
Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park
Crabbing/fishing in Clevedon
Ebbor Gorge
Sand Sculptures at westonsupermare
Greenbank Heated outdoor swimming pool
Clarks shopping village
Bath
Wells
Axbridge
Carboot in Cheddar

Wow must be the largest list I have managed to put together for a camping holiday, allows plenty of choice doing the things we enjoy come rain or shine.

Please let me know if I have missed anything. I've purposely left out Longyeat safari and other animal parks as we have exhausted these at other places. Don't like guided walks and talks. Love gardens but don't think my daughter would appreciate them as much and me & OH.

I wouldn't visit Wookey Hole without it being paid for (i.e with Tesco Vouchers) - very random load of tat thrown together. Never again. Cheddar Gorge was lovely though - wish we had done the caves there instead.
Longleat is lovely.

I agree with everything you said there. There is the steam train from bishop's lydydard that goes to Minehead with stops along the way, that was a good day out

There is a good go karting place in Cheddar - South West Go karting. I took my 8 year old boy last year and he loved it. Add that!

If you are going to Clarks village it's also worth going almost literally the extra mile into mythical Glastonbury for it's quirky shops and the Abbey ruins.

I live in Cheddar, we have a leisure centre with indoor pool etc.

The reservoir that you can have a walk around and feed the swans.

Also if you are a bit stuck , the old broadway campsite now called Cheddar Woods which only has lodges but they run "go active" activities which outsiders can book to take part, also a spa there. my kids have been up to do some activites there.

Wednesday and Saturday mornings were the farmers market days in Wells so I would visit then. The farmers market also is in Axbridge square once a month I think.

Geocaching sites in Cheddar also.

Also 15 mins away is Mendip Outdoor persuits, lots of activities yo do there, skiing, tobogganing plus lots more. There's a disc golf course there too that looks like a fun family activity.

Mendip raceway for banger racing.

Think that's Brean splash and the Chalice Well.
