Call into Just Ales, on Market Street, Wells, a Friendly and Welcoming Micro Pub, up to 6 Real Ales, 11 + Ciders and Perry's and some Belgium Beers. (You may find me in there, amongst other drinking establishments, such as the City Arms, Globe Inn, Rose and Crown and The Venue)
Other sites in Wells, Vicars close, Oldest complete inhabited Medieval street, Bishops Palace and the Cathedral. St Cuthberts Church is the largest Parish church in the UK (Features in Hot Fuzz too)
Near by you have Wookey hole Caves and Ebbor Gorge.
Close by in Glastonbury you have Glastonbury tor, Abbey Ruins and the recently reopened Rural Life Museum.
In Street, you have the Clarks Outlet Village.
In Cheddar, you have Cheddar Gorge and Caves.

if you like walks/boats you can walk around axbridge lake...or there are some nice walks up and around chew valley lake and cafe is ok for an icecream.
there is the steam railway over at cranmore (on way to frome), not much there other than the steam train.
if you want to venture in to Bristol (i suggest park and ride for parking), then you have loads to do...SS great Britain expensive, but worth it. you also have at bristol science centre, the free M-shed museum, the art museum, zoo, suspension bridge, loads of places to eat. Shopping is as per any other city of course!
if you fancy a cider, there is the thatchers visitors centre near weston
and bath...is busy now, so plan your visit and what you want to see. the queues at the pump room were huge when i was there the other day!
