Hi we are camping at Hillcroft campsite next month.
We will be a family of with two kids 15 and 5. And we have a dog too. Can anyone recommend days out and things to do which is dog friendly.
The Lakes are all about the fell walking, really - are you wanting suggestions for walks? Lots of lovely ones within reach of the area. Obviously your dog needs to be kept well away from sheep, which are extra vulnerable because the lambs are only just growing up.
Get the steamer from ooley Bridge down Ullswater, get off at any stop - Aira Force and see the waterfalls (not that there will be any water, given the dry stretch). At Glenridding you can walk round the road to where they hire out small motor boats or rowing boats to explore the lake yourself (lovely views from that part of the lake) or if you want a short easy walk Lanty's Tarn and Keldas View.
See what is happening at the Rheghed Centre, between Pooley Bridge and Penrith.
If you like adventure (not for the 5 year old) you can go on the Via Ferrata at Honnnister Mines (you need to book), perfect for an adventurous 15 year old, the 5 year old can walk up Fleetwith Pike with an adult to meet them on the way down. (The via Ferrata goes up the side of the mountain and finishes at the top and the participants walk back down the usual path).
Derwent Water has a lovely boat that goes round the lake and you can get on and off at different points.

Thank you.
We live in Wales, dog has been around sheep since she was born. But obviously we will keep her on leads when sheep are around.
We are planning a boat trip for one day. Do you know if there are any farm parks or similar? There is a day that I'll be having a day just the kids and me, as he is pjammg a day of walking just him and the dog.
Trotters Farm is a good day out not cheap but lots to do. If you have transport it is at Bassenthwaite just north of Keswick. They have a website. Sorry not able to do a link. SUE
