Planning a tour of Scotland in September and need recommendations for areas/sites toward the east side of Scotland to visit please, we enjoy walking the dog and birdwatching
Yellowcraigs CAMC site near North Berwick
Edinburgh CAMC Site
Balbirnie Park CAMC Site at Markinch in Fife
Forfar Lochside CAMC Site
Stonehaven Queen Elizabeth CAMC Site
Silverbank CAMC Site at Banchory on Deeside
Smith Croft CAMC CL near Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire
------------- 2020 Volvo XC60 B5 R Design Geartronic / 2018 Swift Elegance 580
Or if you're not a CAMC member - Aberlady (east of Edinburgh); Mortonhall outside Edinburgh; Woodlands at Carnoustie; the non-Club site at Fortose (added bonus - dolphins); Ballater; and Haughton House (Alford) are independant sites we like with adjacent dog walking areas that satisfy our cocker spaniel.
The C&CC sites at Dunbar & Dingwall are ok too.
Aberlady (like Yellowcraigs) is near a bird watching reserve on the coast, but your dog won't be allowed there even on a lead.
If you're going up / coming back "down the middle" (A9), you'll pick up the bird watching in the Cairngorms where there's plenty of choice for sites but dog walking may have to be on-lead due to red squirrels, deer, capercaillie etc.
PS - you'd probably get a much better response if you posted in the campsite section.
