Hi all
I wonder if anyone can help me. We are staying in Honiton to visit my mother, who is on the shielded list and has only just been given permission to leave her home. Does anyone have any recommendations of somewhere outside that is fairly quiet we can meet her. We either need somewhere that loans a wheelchair (some NT places do) or somewhere where we can set up camping chairs fairly close to a carpark and, preferably, get a cup of tea! She can't walk that far due to COPD plus other complications. Thank you so much, I know this is slightly off topic but I know how knowledgeable and helpful people are on here.
I don’t know the area at all, but I checked TripAdvisor under its “things to do” section, and it looked like there were some parks that might suit. There may also be a “shop mobility” place in town that would hire out a wheelchair.
Thanks very much for your time. I have done a bit of Googling myself but was hoping for some insider info, generally looking for information on what the reality is in the area in terms of volumes of people, we really need somewhere quiet and, from my experience of where I live, some quite random places seem to be really busy at the moment. I am trying to keep it as fear free for my mum as possible.
yes and that is why the example i gave was a really nice hotel, with gardens and seating areas, a nice afternoon tea served to you all in a posh hotel would lift anyone at the moment i think
Maybe a long shot, but the Red Cross loan out wheelchairs for short periods here - maybe you have one local section near you or your Mum who could help?
