Just wondering if anyone could recommend some food-related events in UK for future trip-planning purposes please, especially outdoor food festivals/markets with vendors offering different types of cooked dishes to purchase? Like a gathering of food trucks etc...?
I searched and could not find any thread on food festivals.
Thanks in advance.

Hi DK. They might be waiting to see what the Coronavirus situation is. The Newmilns Food Festival in Ayrshire only has 80 exhibitors from all over, too small for you, but they had to cancel in 2020 & there’s nothing online yet.

Thanks for that and I shall bear it in mind.
My own town has an annual food festival and it is much smaller. Ours was cancelled like many other events last year.
I enjoy food and drink, cooking and eating out, and would love to be able to combine those activities with camping as much as I can.

I’d agree - we always buy local when we’re away. The other factor is available campsites- the festival I mentioned doesn’t have a dedicated site & there isn’t one nearby.
Just remembered. I can recommend staying at the Kirkcudbright site during the town’s small food festival ( forgotten the date) because a lot goes on (cook school, demos, market etc) and the Masonic Arms has a gin bar with over 100 gins to choose from, and all in walking distance from the site. Butcher has won many prizes for his pies too.

We went to one a few years ago that was at Tatton Park. It was a mix of vendors selling artisan food products they make such as cheeses, jams, baked goods etc and then stalls selling hot food to eat there and then. There were also a couple of cookery theatres with some famous chefs doing cookery demonstrations.
It wasn’t massive but we enjoyed it. You had to pay to get in but we got free tickets through the Telegraph.
I think I remember seeing at the time that this particular one moved around the country and popped up in several different places but I can’t remember who the organisers were to find info online.
Thanks spiritburner and Pixie_Hez for your recommendations.
