No to be honest.
If you go from Lathkill side it'still a good way down to the river, if it is in flow this time of year, because it goes underground if not.
There are nice walks from the pub at the top but you are in the white peaks, after all.
If you go to Middleton via youlgrave center, then drop down the hill and to the river, that's a pleasant walk along the river. and flat.
And only that steep hill to do twice.
